Critical assessment and outcome measures in Aquatic Therapy for persons with chronic disabilities

AquaOutcome is the successor of AquaEvidence (Leuven 2007 - 2009). It is a European project, supported by the Erasmus IP system. AquaOutcome will take place at the Universidad de Castilla~La Mancha (UCLM), school of Nursing and Physiotherapy, Toledo, Spain. It is again a three-year cycle, starting in 2012; July: Monday 2nd - Friday 13th.
The main goal is to teach health professionals in aquatic therapy to use appropriate outcome measures - both land- and water-related - in specific patient populations when applying an aquatic intervention in the framework of evidence based clinical practice.
The course has a strong theoretical focus, but is directly related to the aquatic post-graduate aquatic therapy courses at UCLM or in the Klinik Valens in Switzerland.
Keynote speaker: Harriët Wittink PhD. Lector at the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, Netherlands. Co-author of the book: Meten in de Prakijk (measuring in clinical practice) by S. Beurskens et al (2008)
UCLM also organizes 2 practical seminars about the newest developments in aquatic physical therapy. The seminars are part of the Aquaoutcome course but can be attended separately.
1. Friday July 06: Osteoarthritis of hip and knee and Joint replacement by Urs Gamper and Ben Waller
2. Saturday July 07: Bad Ragaz Ring Method (BRRM) by Urs Gamper and Johan Lambeck
